About Evelyn Bryant
Why I'm Running for Sunrise City Commissioner, Seat C
Sunrise is more than the place I live—it's the place my family calls home. It's where I'm raising my grandchildren, where we've built lasting friendships, and where I've invested my heart in this community. Every day, I see the hopes parents have for their children, the challenges seniors face, and the dreams of families who simply want safe neighborhoods, good opportunities, and a city that truly listens. Those experiences are why I am running for Sunrise City Commissioner, Seat C.
When I look into my grandchildren's eyes, I don't just see their future—I see the future of Sunrise. I want them to grow up in a city where they feel safe, where parks are welcoming, where neighborhoods are clean and thriving, and where every child has the opportunity to succeed. I want them to be proud to say they were raised in Sunrise, just as I am proud to call this city home.
Service has always been at the heart of my life. Before moving to Sunrise, I proudly served as an Auxiliary Police Officer in New York City. Here in Sunrise, I strengthened my commitment to public safety by graduating from the Sunrise Community Police Academy, giving me a deeper understanding of the partnership between residents and law enforcement and the importance of building trust within our community.
Giving back has never been about recognition—it has always been about making a difference. I have volunteered my time mentoring young people, supporting families, and serving wherever I was needed. I was deeply honored to receive the Community Service Award presented by the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge 138. That recognition means so much to me because it reflects my lifelong belief that leadership begins with service.
As a wife, mother of four, grandmother raising my grandchildren, businesswoman, and woman of faith, I understand the everyday struggles families face. Rising costs, public safety, quality of life, support for seniors, and creating opportunities for our youth are not just campaign issues—they are personal. They affect my family just as they affect yours.
I believe our city government should be open, transparent, and accessible. Every resident deserves to be heard, respected, and represented. I will lead with integrity, compassion, and accountability, always putting the people of Sunrise first.
Together, we can strengthen our neighborhoods, support our seniors, invest in our children, help local businesses succeed, and ensure Sunrise remains a city where families can build their lives with confidence and hope.
I am not running because of politics. I am running because I love Sunrise. I am running because this is where my grandchildren are growing up, and I want to leave them—and every family in our city—a community that is safer, stronger, and filled with opportunity. I want every child to have the chance to dream big, every senior to feel respected and secure, and every resident to know their voice matters.
This campaign is about serving our community with heart, bringing people together, and ensuring that Sunrise continues to be a place we are all proud to call home.
I would be honored to earn your trust, your support, and your vote for Sunrise City Commissioner, Seat C.
With faith, compassion, and a servant's heart, I am ready to serve and work for you Sunrise.
